Rome, one of the oldest cities in the world, is going to have a new art museum for art lovers by the end of 2019. Not many cities in the world can boast of the kind of history that Rome has. Once the capital of the Roman empire, today Rome is one of the religious centers of the world. Rome has been the center of creativity and new ideas for centuries. From glory to devastation, Rome has seen it all in the past. It has been the power center of the world, lost its power in between, and now again it’s one of the most important cities in the world. Museums showcase the collection of cultural, artistic, scientific, and historical artifacts to the people. The idea is to inspire people, and give them a peek into objects which they can’t witness any other way. The major cities of the world have hundreds of Museum because they have so much art and history to show. Rome is right up there on the list of cities with most museums. With so many museums already in the town, let’s see what makes Musja special to earn its place in this historic center.
The Launch of Musja
Opened in 2017 as a multi-purpose space, Musia is now going to turn into Musja, a contemporary art museum. Musja (Museo Jacorossi) is going to be the center of attraction for the art lovers visiting the city. Other than contemporary art, the Museum will also be hosting the exhibitions of world’s renowned artists. The first one will be an exhibition trilogy by famous Italian curator Danilo Eccher. Premiering from 8th October, the exhibition trilogy will showcase the works of famous artists like Robert Longo, Tony Oursler, Gregor Schneider, and many other international artists. This exhibition series will be titled’ The Dark Side.’ The president of the Musja, Ovidio Jacorossi, said that the Museum is dedicated to the people of Rome and Italy. The Museum will reflect human history and the history of entrepreneurship through its art collection. The president of Musja was hopeful that the people of the country would take pride in the Museum and its collections. Located at the center of the city between Campo de’ Fiori and Largo Argentina, Musja will showcase the extensive collection of great Italian art from the last century. Modern international trends will complement the collection.
The Museum stands in the same place where the Pompey’s theatre once stood. The architecture and interior of the building are also one of its kind. The architecture reminds you of the ancient Roman architecture and also has glimpses of Renaissance architecture. There is also a personal attachment of the president Jacorossi with the place where the building is standing. It is the same place where his family business was started almost a century ago by his grandfather. The goal of Musja is to become the reference point when it comes to the culture of Rome. It is also going to partner with prestigious private and public institutions, and other famous museums of the world.
